Application & Installation Guidelines

Its compact Standard U-Bar bail provides 49 mm of interior vertical clearance (dimension B) and 97 mm of overall height (dimension F), keeping profile height low while easily accepting standard rigging hooks and alloy shackles. Unlike conventional rigid shoulder eye bolts—which suffer severe capacity derating and bending stress under side loads—the Actek #46608 swivel hoist ring pivots and swivels freely so the bail aligns with the sling leg. Every unit is manufactured from certified heat-treated alloy steel, 100% magnetic particle inspected, and individually proof-load tested to 200% of Working Load Limit with a permanent serial number stamped on the body for full inspection traceability.

Mounting & Torque Requirements: Always seat the 31 mm bushing flange (dimension I) flush against a flat, machined mounting surface so the U-bar can rotate 360° and pivot 180° without striking adjacent walls or corners. Torque the mounting screw to the recommended 37 Nm and re-check torque periodically during extended service. To achieve full rated capacity in a tapped blind hole, the parent material should have a minimum tensile strength of 80,000 PSI; for softer steels, aluminum, or cast iron, use a through-hole installation secured with a matching high-strength nut and flat washer on the underside. When lifting with multiple hoist rings at an angle, remember that sling leg tension increases as the horizontal sling angle A decreases (Load per Ring = Total Weight / [Number of Rings × sin A]); never exceed the 1,050 kg (2,315 lbs / 1.05 t) rating per ring or apply shock loads.
