Crosby Forged Anchor Shackles (G-209 & G-2130) — Specifications & WLL Guide

The Crosby Group’s forged alloy-pin anchor shackles (G-209 Screw Pin and G-2130 Bolt-Type with nut and cotter) are the global benchmark for overhead crane rigging, quenched and tempered with hot-dip galvanized bows, signature red pins, and patented Quic-Check angle indicators.

G-209 Screw Pin Anchor Shackles

Fast threading alloy screw pin for temporary rigging, choke hitches, and frequent sling changes from 3/16" (1/3 Ton) through 2" (35 Tons WLL).

G-2130 Bolt-Type Safety Anchor Shackles

Secured with an alloy bolt, hex nut, and split cotter pin to prevent pin rotation under vibration, permanent overhead installations, or load sliding.

Quic-Check Angle Marks & PIC Traceability

Forged with 45° Quic-Check angle indicators on the bow and Product Identification Codes (PIC) for full material and heat-treatment traceability.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I choose a Crosby G-2130 Bolt-Type shackle over a G-209 Screw Pin shackle?
Choose a Crosby G-2130 bolt-type shackle (with bolt, nut, and cotter pin) for permanent or long-term installations, overhead suspension, or any pick where a sling or load could slide across the pin and unscrew a G-209 pin.
What are the raised marks on the bow of a Crosby shackle?
Those are Crosby’s patented Quic-Check indicators forged at 45° angles on the shackle bow, allowing riggers to visually verify whether a multi-leg hitch exceeds a 45° side angle without a protractor.
How does side-loading affect a Crosby G-209 or G-2130 anchor shackle?
Per Crosby and ASME B30.26 guidelines, reduce the shackle’s Working Load Limit to 100% for inline (0°–5°) loading, 70% of WLL from 6° to 45°, and 50% of WLL from 46° to 90°. Never load beyond 90°.
Should the sling eye or the hook go on the Crosby shackle pin?
When connecting a single sling to a pad eye or lifting lug, seat the shackle pin through the fixed pad eye so the sling eye rests in the rounded shackle bow. Never let a moving sling run across a screw pin.
Are Crosby G-209 and G-2130 shackles hot-dip galvanized?
Yes. Both the G-209 and G-2130 feature hot-dip galvanized forged steel bows paired with Crosby’s signature red powder-coated alloy pins for corrosion protection and instant visual pin inspection.
